Update on Popps Ferry Road construction

A busy road in D’Iberville has been getting a face lift for quite a long time.

The construction on Popp’s Ferry Road is approaching the final stages. The city is waiting for a striper to put the final touches on the road this week, weather permitting.

Once that’s complete, traffic will be free to flow and a contractor will go through the final punch list to make sure the job is complete.

D’Iberville City Manager Bobby Weaver is hopeful that the end of the Popps Ferry Road work is near. “We usually give it about two weeks or so for the punch list items and then we do close out, but I would say about the latter part of June this should be fully operational with no construction stuff out here.”

The next phase of the project will continue west of the current location about 1,000 feet.
