UPDATE: Biloxi police release new details in assault case involving puppy death

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Biloxi police are releasing new details in that aggravated assault case in which two men were arrested for assaulting a man who crushed a two-week old puppy to death.
It all began just before 11:30 Friday night at a home in the 1800 block of Beach Boulevard, where officers were called to a fight.
Police say a man and Matthew Bolton were involved in a physical altercation that turned violent, with Bolton allegedly striking the victim repeatedly in the abdomen and throwing him into a wall.
The situation escalated hours later at a home on Floyd Drive where Bolton and Austin Delano are accused of punching and kicking the man while Delano held him in a chokehold due to the man allegedly saying derogatory comments towards a person who was with Bolton and Delano.
The situation escalated after that when the man purposely crushed a two-week-old husky puppy, which later died, which led to Bolton and Delano to continue punching and kicking the man.
The injured man later made it a nearby home on Jim Money Road asking for help. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. His identity has not been released by police at this time.
Charges on aggravated cruelty to a dog for that man are pending due to the nature of his injuries, as he was unable to be arrested at the time of this incident.
