Upcoming road work in Biloxi starts next week
We want to give you a heads up on some road work in Biloxi that may disrupt your drive.
On Monday, crews will begin installing fiber optic cable along Popp’s Ferry Road from North Country Club Lane to Sunkist Country Club Road.
There will be intermittent lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for a little more than a week through April 18th.
Starting April 17th, crews will be working on two railroad crossings in downtown Biloxi.
The Main Street Crossing will close as crews work to elevate the road on each side to level it out. That’s the crossing that was the site of a deadly collision six years ago. Four people were killed when a freight train slammed into a Texas tour bus after the bus got stuck on the tracks.
Crews will also be working at another Biloxi crossing this month. They’ll be closing the Holley Street Crossing permanently.
