University of Southern Mississippi football program hires new defensive coordinator

On Tuesday, Southern Miss football coach Will Hall announced Clay Bignell as the new defensive coordinator of the Golden Eagles.

Bignell spent his last two seasons as an assistant coach, including last year at Eastern Illinois where he served as the defensive coordinator. In his one, and only season, as defensive coordinator at EIU, the Panther defense currently ranks #1 nationally in turnover margin.

Safe to say the Golden Eagles are bringing a good one to the program.
