University of Mississippi chancellor stepping down in January
The State College Board announced that the chancellor of Ole Miss, Jeffrey Vitter, will be stepping down in January.
After serving three years in the university’s top administrative position, Vitter is resigning on January 3rd. He will remain as a tenured ‘distinguished professor’ in the school of engineering.
The board released a statement saying Vitter brought ‘a greater level of stature and prominence to the university,’ referring to his accomplishments including fundraising expansion, initiatives to recruit more international students, and his oversight on more than $700 million in construction projects.
