Unified Basketball Game at Ocean Springs High School

A first-in-the-state basketball program continues to provide hoop dreams right here on the Coast.
The Dream Program partnered with Ocean Springs High School once again to provide a third basketball season for players with and without intellectual disabilities. The unified team played its last home game of the season tonight at the Ocean Springs High School gym.
The program provides a life-changing experience for all athletes involved while highlighting the athleticism of people with disabilities. Dream Team player Emily Conley said, “Oh my God. It feels amazing. I’ve had a great season, especially with these guys, it’s so fun.”
Ocean Springs varsity basketball player Dougless Stamant said, “We’ve gotten way closer through this. I would see them in the hallways and wave and stuff, but this way we get to hang out with them a little after school.”
After the game, the Dream Program awarded athletes who have played on the team for the past two or three years with brand new letterman jackets.
