‘Ugly Tie Fest’ happening this Saturday in Downtown Gulfport

The ‘Ugly Tie Fest’ is happening this Saturday in Downtown Gulfport.

The festival is being put on by SuperTalk Mississippi Media, the same group that also put on Food Truck Fest in Biloxi in May. That festival drew in almost 4,000 people in about six hours so the City of Gulfport asked for their assistance in putting on the Ugly Tie Fest.

The media group hopes this festival can draw in another big crowd.

Ugly Tie Fest was originally scheduled for Father’s Day Weekend but had to be pushed back because of the weather.

For this weekend, they’re hoping all come out to the family fun event that will feature similar activities to the Food Truck Festival with a few more added that will be for the dads. SuperTalk Mississippi Media Director of Sales Jesse Alvarez said, “Food trucks, cold beer, live music, motorcycles, classic and antique, and vendors set up. It’s geared more towards dads, but the draw will really be the food, music, and the drinks.”

The festival starts at 11 on Saturday and is free to the public.
