U.S. Senate passes Hurricane Katrina anniversary resolution
The U.S. Senate has approved a resolution observing the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina later this month.
Senate Resolution 344 was approved in the upper chamber unanimously and co-sponsored by Senator Roger Wicker and other southern senators.
After the resolution’s passage, Senator Hyde-Smith released a statement, saying in part, “that Mississippi has made great progress in the past 20 years and the commitment to the renewal of the Gulf Coast continues to this day.”
