Tyjae Spears, Jaren Hall making Senior Bowl waves
They say the draft starts in Mobile where more than 120 of the best players in all of college football descend upon the Azalea City as they make their final push leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft.
Exciting week of Senior Bowl practice at Hancock Whitney Stadium where some familiar names are making waves in front of scouts.
Tulane Green Wave running back Tyjae Spears named Senior Bowl practice player of the week as voted on by NFL executives and scouts.
That should come as no surprise following his more than 1,800 total yards and 21 touchdowns in 2022.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints reportedly have their eyes on some quarterbacks, including BYU’s Jaren Hall, who’s currently projected as a fourth-round guy after throwing for more than 6,100 yards and 52 touchdowns in just 29 games for the Cougars.
Of course, the biggest storyline for the Saints this week is former Head Coach Sean Payton officially named head man of the Denver Broncos today, earning the Saints a shiny new first-round pick. New Orleans Saints Assistant General Manager Jeff Ireland said, “I mean it doesn’t really change our process as it relates to the draft. I mean we’re always going to evaluate every single player as if we had a top five pick, a 15th pick or a 29th pick, so it doesn’t really change the way we do things or the way we approach the draft. But it does give us more flexibility. It gives us at least one more good player this year that we can add to our football team. We’re excited about that.”
The Saints will be on the clock with the 29th pick, the first of their seven selections.
