Two women charged with shoplifting at D’Iberville store also suspects in crimes across Southeast

Two women charged with felony shoplifting in D’Iberville are suspects in similar crimes across the Southeast.

D’Iberville Police Chief Shannon Nobles said 37-year-old Cristina Pantelica and 19-year-old Alandro Badanac, both originally from Romania and now living in Houston, Texas, were charged with felony shoplifting. They were taken to Harrison County jail and bond was set at $100,000 for each. They also are on a hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

On March 17, police received a report of shoplifting at Academy Sports and Outdoors. Investigation identified the women and suspects and they they were suspects in other shoplifting cases at Academy Sports stores across the Southeast.

The women are accused of concealing more than $5,000 in merchandise and leaving the store without paying.

The women returned to the D’Iberville store on April 27 and police were called. They found the women and arrested them without incident.
