Two teenagers killed in Gulfport shooting

Two teenagers were shot and killed in Gulfport Tuesday evening.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer has identified them as 19-year-old Juan Reginald Harvey Jr. and 18-year-old Teraye Preston.

According to our media partner the Sun Herald, Gulfport PD found Harvey dead inside of a vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound while Preston was located in the roadway still suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Preston was brought to a hospital, but eventually succumbed to his injuries as well.

Both men were Gulfport residents.

Police Sgt. Jason Ducre reports the shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m. near Loposser Avenue and Layton Drive, just off East Pass Road near Salvage World.
