Two of State’s Three Republican Candidates for Governor on Coast Monday

Voters here in South Mississippi and throughout the state will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the primaries on Aug. 6, deciding which candidates will make it to the November 5 general election, and many candidates are ramping up their travel on the statewide campaign trail. Monday, two of the three Republican candidates for governor will be right here in South Mississippi.

Chances are you caught them in a recent televised debate. But today, candidates Bill Waller Jr. and Robert Foster will be entertaining folks here in South Mississippi.

Former state supreme court justice Bill Waller Jr. will be speaking at the Jeff Davis campus cafeteria at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport at 11:30 am at a meeting held by the Harrison County Republican Women. The public is invited to attend.

Then, starting at 2:30 pm Monday afternoon, candidate Robert Foster will be visiting with locals at three meet and greets on the Coast. Foster will be at the Harbor View Cafe in Long Beach at 2:30 pm, at Dan B’s in Bay St. Louis at 4:30 pm and at the Whiskey Bar in Pass Christian at 6:30 pm. The public is invited to come out for each of the three meet and greets this afternoon.

Lt. Governor Tate Reeves is the third candidate seeking the Republican nomination come Aug. 6. The winner of the August primary election will be the Republican candidate for governor on the state’s general election ballot come Nov. 5.
