Two phase utility project begins in D’Iberville
D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- Drivers in D’Iberville should expect delays as a two-phase utility project begins along a busy corridor.
Phase one of a two-phase construction project in D’Iberville is now in the works. This has closed both northbound lanes of Lamey Bridge Road just south of Sangani Boulevard and Mallett Road.
The city’s plan is to shift traffic to the southbound lanes with one lane carrying northbound traffic and the other remaining open for southbound drivers.
City Manager Bobby Weaver says this project is expected to last up to two weeks.
Starting April 20, phase two will bring even bigger changes. All lanes of Lamey Bridge Road in this area will close, forcing drivers to take a detour around the intersection using Mallett Road, Daisy Vestry Road, and Sangani Boulevard.
The city says there are signs, workers, and officers on site, but they’re asking drivers to stay alert and plan ahead.
As long as the weather permits, the goal is wrap up both phases of the project within the next two weeks.
