Two New Exhibits at the Mary C. O’Keefe Center
Putting Hurricane Katrina to bed, that’s the theme of one of two new exhibits the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center will put on display starting tomorrow.
“Bed-scapes” will be displayed throughout the building as a fun and symbolic way to show it’s time to put Katrina behind us and move forward.
A second exhibit will showcase the history of railroads here in South Mississippi and the role they have played in our community.
Curator for the Mary C. O’Keefe Center Patricia Pinson said, “They look at our history, both the Katrina exhibit and the railroad exhibit look at the history. It’s what makes us and why we are there, what has formed this area.”
Thursday night the Mary C. will host an opening from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be free to the public.
