Two men recognized for bringing toddler to safety in D’Iberville

This evening, two D’Iberville Public Works employees were recognized for their help returning two-year-old Jack Vick to safety last month.

On July 16th, Jack escaped Honey’s Development Center in D’Iberville and ran down the street until he was spotted by an alert public works crew.

Workers Dereck Griffis and Chad Kangas returned Jack safely to the daycare.

D’Iberville issued a proclamation at this evening’s city council meeting in honor of both Griffis and Kangas and Jack was reunited with his rescuers.

Jack’s parents told News 25 “we all just thank God that they were in the right place at the right time.”
