Two local students selected for Senate program

Two coastal students have been selected for the United States Senate Youth Program.

William Crosby Parker II, a senior at Gulfport High, and Nial Chen, a senior at Ocean Springs High School, have been selected for the program. They will join Senator Roger Wicker and Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in representing the state in Washington in March.

They were selected among top student leaders in the state and will join other students, two from each state.

Each student will receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship and will be encouraged to continue coursework in the related fields.
