Two local students representing the state in Washington, D.C.
Two Coast students were selected for the United States Senate Youth Program.
Shayleen Moeini and Jackson Pearce, both of Gulfport, are representing the Magnolia State. The youth senate program’s Washington Week started on March 1st and runs to Saturday, March 8th.
Both are attending meetings and briefings with President Trump, senators, and other officials. Each delegate also received a $10,000 scholarship.
Moeini and Pearce were selected after being nominated by teachers and their principals.
Moeini is a senior at St. Patrick Catholic High School while Pearce is a senior at Gulfport High School.
