Two local soccer players headed to USYS National Tournament in late July
It’s the first weekend in the month of July and many people have their eyes set on rest and relaxation as they close out the Fourth of July holiday, but that couldn’t be further from the truth for a girls soccer team out of the Magnolia state who’ll be preparing for a major tournament.
The United States Youth Soccer team Mississippi Rush United ’08 girls team is headed to nationals, and they are currently ranked second in the nation! Although a majority of the team is made up of girls from the Jackson area, two of our local girls are contributing in a big way in the form of Bella Jordan from St. Patrick and Avery Lofton from Biloxi.
Jordan, Lofton, and the rest of their talented clubs recently won the Southern Regional tournament in Tampa, and they are now one of eight teams preparing to compete in the national USYS tournament in Orlando from July 22nd through the 28th.
The girls are currently collecting donations and sponsorships if you would like to support their journey to a national championship! You can email abrent@wxxv25.com if you would like a sponsorship or donation form.
Best of luck to Bella, Avery, and Mississippi Rush United ‘08!
