HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Department of Education has announced the finalists for the 2026 Mississippi Administrator and Teacher of the Year awards.

The Administrator of the Year program recognizes school leaders who inspire teachers, demonstrate strong leadership, and stay actively involved in their communities.

The Teacher of the Year honor highlights outstanding educators making a difference in the classroom.

The winners will receive a $5,000 stipend, help support education across the state, and go on to represent Mississippi in the National Teacher of the Year competition.

Cody Eadie, an English teacher at Harrison Central High School, and Patrick Bennett, principal at Long Beach Career and Technical Center, are two local teachers being recognized.

The winners will be announced April 17 during a ceremony at the Jackson Convention Complex in Jackson.
