Two juveniles charged with possession of a firearm by a minor at school

Gulfport High students on Wednesday reported to administration the possibility of a gun on campus.

Administration officials investigated the report and confiscated a firearm. No one was harmed.

Gulfport Police Department arrested a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old juvenile and charged them each with one count of possession of a firearm by a minor at a school.  Both juveniles were taken to Harrison County Youth Detention Center.

According to the school handbook, any student who violates the policy prohibiting weapons will be suspended and recommended for expulsion in accordance with the policy.
