Two girls admit to setting fire at Alice Street Park
Two girls have admitted to setting fire to a building at Alice Street Park in Ocean Springs last weekend.
City officials said the fire department responded to a fire about 5 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the park.
The concession stand and restroom facilities were on fire and sustained heavy damage.
The fire marshal determined the fire was the result of arson.
Two female juveniles, 12 to 13 years old, confessed to intentionally setting the fire. Charges for 2nd degree arson are pending in the case, which will be turned over to Jackson County Youth Court.
