Two Coast schools represent in volleyball state championship games
Vancleave wasn’t the only school from the Coast playing for a state championship on Saturday with both Long Beach and Our Lady Academy looking for the chance to be crowned champions.
After a semi-final win over New Hope last week, Long Beach went up against Center Hill in the class 5A title game. After losing the first two sets, the Lady Bearcats won the third set 25-20. However, Center Hill would go on to win the last set 25-18 to bring home the championship.
Now to the class 1 ranks where Our Lady Academy is screaming dynasty. The Lady Crescents swept St. Andrew’s in straight sets to win their eighth straight state championship and the school’s 14th overall.
