Two Businesses give back
Two restaurants in downtown Gulfport closed their doors to business on Thanksgiving Day, and opened them up for a cause close to their hearts. Corks and Cleaver as well as Pop’s Brothers teamed up to provide Thanksgiving meals to the needy in our community. From 1 to 4pm, they served everything from turkey and ham to a homemade popsicle for dessert. Owners of both establishments tell News 25 they have received so much love from the people of the coast, and they’re now grateful for the ability to serve the area. It’s their way of giving back to the community that supports them; they cooked enough to feed 600 people. Any leftover meals will be delivered to our first responders working this Thanksgiving, and to those in nursing homes in the area.
