Two arrests made in burglary of Pass Christian gun store

Two arrests have been made in connection with the break-in and burglary of the Gun Ho Range & Firearm Store on April 13.

Pass Christian Police Chief Daren Freeman said 18-year-old Morris Miller Jr. of Slidell, Louisiana, and a Hancock County juvenile were arrested today and charged with commercial burglary. Miller was booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail on a fugitive charge. No bond has been set.

Freeman said the arrests came after “a lot of work by several agencies — and it’s not over yet.”

Freeman said Miller faces additional charges in Louisiana and that the investigation could lead to additional arrests and charges.

Hancock County Cmdr. Kris Robbins said the juvenile, 17, lived in the Diamondhead area. He was charged with taking of a motor vehicle after confessing to the crime and will go through the youth court system. Robbins said the juvenile also confessed to the burglary of a house in Diamondhead during his interview.

The gun range and firearm store was broken into early April 13 when a vehicle was stolen from a home in Diamondhead and used to smash through glass doors at the store.

Multiple weapons were stolen. ATF said in a press release on April 18 that one of the weapons had been recovered and offered a reward of up to $5,000 was being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspects seen on surveillance video. The National Shooting Sports Foundation also contributed to the reward money.
