Two arrested and charged with receiving stolen property in Jackson County

Boler

Two Jackson County brothers, 45-year-old Rodney Lavon Boler and 49-year-old Russell Eugene Boler, are in custody charged with the violation of Mississippi’s revised scrap metal law.

The sheriff’s department has had several recent reports of phone lines being cut and stolen throughout the county. Investigators discovered the Bolers were selling burned copper telecommunication lines to a local scrap yard, which violates the revised law.

The Bolers were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property on September 19th, 2022. They had an initial appearance in county court on September 20th, where bail was set at $2,500 each.

The investigation into the phone line thefts is ongoing. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s department at 228-769-3065 or report it to Crime Stoppers.
