Two 18-wheelers catch fire on I-10 after crash Sunday morning

Two 18-wheelers crashed and caught fire on I-10 in Biloxi near the Woolmarket exit, sending one driver to the hospital.

Biloxi police say it happened around 4 Sunday morning. Police tell News 25 the trucks were headed in the same direction when they collided and got stuck on each other.

The trucks then swerved off the road and caught fire. One of the truck drivers was able to escape safely without injury. The other was severely burned and was transported to the hospital.

Biloxi Police Captain Milton Houseman said, “Both of the 18-wheelers collided while on the interstate. They got stuck together if that makes sense to you. We’re not sure if one of the doors got hooked onto one of the other doors or something, but they literally got stuck together.”

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
