Two 16-year-olds arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 18-year-old in Gulfport

On June 3, 2022, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 16-year-old, Dwayne D Stewart Jr., on one count of First-Degree Murder, and 16-year-old, Chrishide Devonte Jordan, on one count of Accessory After the Fact.

On June 3, 2022, at approximately 10:42 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Old Pass Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 18-year-old, Tyrese Reshawn Yarbor, in the middle of the road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered Stewart, Jordan, and Yarbor had gotten into a verbal altercation. During the verbal altercation, Stewart produced a firearm and discharged it multiple times at Yarbor. Stewart and Jordan fled the area prior to officers’ arrival.  Yarbor succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Stewart and Jordan were arrested a short time later and taken to the Gulfport Police Department. After booking and processing, Stewart and Jordan were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Both suspects are being held without bond.
