Tulane Receives Leed Gold Standard

Architects recognize Tulane’s Mississippi Gulf Coast campus for its outstanding sustainability efforts.
The campus received the gold standard of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design award also known as the Leed Award.
Leed certified buildings are resource efficient, use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The campus is the first renovation construction in Mississippi to achieve the gold standard.  Johnny Olsen with L.P.K. Architects said, “You know you hear the term green building, this is a very green building. Not only because it is Tulane green, but it’s green from all the other perspectives relative to the sustainability efforts that go into the building from design to construction to occupancy.”
Leed certification ensures electricity cost savings and ultimately provides a healthier environment for students to learn.
