Tropical storm leaves damage at Ken Combs Pier
Fishermen who use Ken Combs Pier in Gulfport say the damage done to the pier from Tropical Storm Cindy is creating a hazard.
Damaged sections are marked off by caution tape at Ken Combs Pier in Gulfport. The winds and waves from the storm ripped out wooden planks and tore up other sections of the pier.
One Biloxi resident who was fishing with his kids tells News 25 the holes and damage done from the storm is putting his children at risk. Biloxi resident Timothy McGill said, “It does create a danger. We had to step over it, had to get my gear across, along with my little seven-year-old daughter who could slip and fall into it. I use this pier probably three to four times a week. Hopefully they get in and fix it pretty quick.”
News 25 reached out to Gulfport city officials about the damaged pier and are waiting for a response.
