Triplett-Day Drug Company in Gulfport closing its doors
After 65 years in business in Downtown Gulfport, owners of Triplett-Day Drug Company have announced they are closing their doors permanently at the end of this month.
The independent pharmacy is iconic for its 1950s style and soda fountain and not much has changed since its opening in 1955.
Mr. Day is now 90-years-old and is ready to take a small step back and combine their two pharmacies.
Poem Love, Mr. Day’s daughter, reminisces on all the memories they’ve made in the Gulfport community. “The friendships, and the bonds, we’ve made with so, so many customers. They come every day. We have groups who come at 8, at 10:30, the same lunch customers every day, and that’s the sad part of this. After 65 years in business, it’s time to have a little bit of relaxation.”
They’ll officially close their doors on March 31st, but Mr. Day and Poem will be spending a lot of their time at their Orange Grove location, TD Pharmacy, in Gulfport.
All prescriptions will be transferred and filled there as well.
