Trio of Biloxi Shuckers earn Southern League honors
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — Congratulations are in order for three members of the Biloxi Shuckers organization, as they have earned Southern League honors.
Joe Ayrault has been named the Southern League Manager of the Year, becoming the first Shucker to receive this award since 2018. Ayrault returned to his position following a battle with cancer in 2024, and he helped the Shuckers to the first half title in the South Division.
The team also led the Southern League in runs, doubles, home runs, walks, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS.
Additionally, Luke Adams was named the league’s All-Star at first base, and Brock Wilken received All-Star honors as the team’s designated hitter.
Adams missed 66 games this season with an injury, but the infielder still finished the year with 11 home runs and a league-leading on-base percentage of 0.409. He also set the Shuckers franchise record by reaching base in 39 straight games.
Wilkin posted career highs with 18 home runs and 35 extra base hits. This is his first time being named an All-Star.
