Trent Lott Airport to reopen after runway work

The Trent Lott Airport will re-open for business on Wednesday.

The airport Board of Commissioners, Jackson County Board of Supervisors and Jackson County Economic Development Foundation will be joined by U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and U.S. Congressman Steven Palazzo for the grand re-opening of the facility.

The Trent Lott Airport, named for retired Sen. Trent Lott, was closed to lengthen and widen the runway. The project was federally funded.

Also included in the 10 a.m. celebration is the welcoming of a new fixed-base operator, Southern Sky Aviation, to the airport.
