Trained Dog Killed During Search

News 25 has received word from Harrison County Sheriff’s Department that the search for Anita Smith’s remains has been postponed. One of the Gulf Coast Search and Rescue Team’s dogs found his way onto a nearby roadway during the search and was killed by a vehicle.
The Search and Rescue dog who died today was named Pirogue.
