Train Destroys Camper
An oncoming train hit and destroyed a 38-foot travel trailer in Hancock County this morning, leaving debris that could be seen for about half a mile along the railroad tracks.
The collision happened at the intersection of Railroad and Clermont Boulevard. Officials say three people were inside a truck pulling a camper trailer when it got stuck on the tracks. When they saw the train quickly approaching, they tried to get the trailer loose but failed causing the train to strike the camper, shattering it to pieces.
No one was injured in the collision.
