Traffic signal improvements underway in South Mississippi
Traffic signal improvement projects and camera replacements are currently underway in Harrison and Hancock counties.
Due to damage caused by Hurricane Zeta, repairs and replacements are being made at 42 intersections along U.S. 90 from Bay St. Louis to Biloxi.
The work on high priority signals in Gulfport and Biloxi is complete and the contractor is working from east to west to complete groups of intersections.
In addition, a similar project is being carried out in Harrison County where 51 intersections with signal lights and cameras along U.S. 49, I-10, I-110, state route 605, and state route 67 are being repaired or replaced.
This $3.4 million project is expected to be finished by spring of 2024.
