Traffic Light up at Intersection in St. Martin

A once dangerous St. Martin intersection is now a lot safer, but construction continues.
Jackson County crews have recently placed traffic lights at the four way intersection of Old Fort Bayou Road and Yellow Jacket Boulevard. This is a heavily traveled area for school buses and students heading to and from St. Martin High School.
While crews are still finishing the area, residents say the newly installed traffic lights will definitely make the route safer.
The 2.4 million dollar project also included the removal of the sharp turn on Old Fort Bayou Road.
