Traffic light installation at Highway 49 and E. Wortham Road
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- MDOT is releasing an alert for Harrison County drivers.
A traffic signal is being installed at Highway 49 and East Wortham Road. This is part of a project to make intersection improvements from Desoto Park Road to just south of East Wortham Road.
The new signal will be placed in flash mode starting April 23rd for a week or two before the signal begins full operation.
Drivers can expect to find a flashing yellow light when approaching from Highway 49 and a flashing red light when approaching from East Wortham Road.
Drivers are reminded they do not need to come to a complete stop when approaching a flashing yellow light.
Drivers just need to stay alert for other drivers entering the highway.
