Traffic advisory: Train stopped on tracks in Gulfport

A CSX train traveling eastbound hit a tractor-trailer that got stuck on the tracks at 33rd Avenue in Gulfport this morning.

The incident happened about 7:30 a.m.

The train is about 1 1/2 miles long and is blocking crossings from about 30th Avenue west to almost into Long Beach.

Gulfport Police said the crossings will be closed for some time so the wreck can be cleared and CSX can conduct safety checks.

Motorists should seek alternate routes.
