Toys for Tots Registration and Donations
Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church is extending its deadline for families for their Toys for Tots holiday drive.
The Gulfport church distributed toys to about 800 families last year. Right now, they are under 700 and want to exceed last year’s numbers. Pastor Winfred Harper tells News 25 the smiles on the children’s faces when picking out their Christmas gifts makes the chaos of organizing the large event worth it. “Every year, there are so many families that need help and we don’t really understand the need. But we’re just here for families that are in need to sign up and that we’ll be able to help distribute. Make a child happy, that’s what we’re trying to do, just help some families.”
For families who are interested in signing up, go to Gulfport-MS.Toysfortots.org. The deadline to register is December 14th. To donate new, unwrapped toy, you can drop off is at the church, located at 10314 Canal Road in Gulfport.
