Tourists injured and robbed in New Orleans
A man is in custody in New Orleans, accused of brutally attacking two men in the French Quarter.
Police say DeJaun Paul is accused of being one of four robbers who knocked the men to the ground, then took their wallets and cellphones Saturday in the French Quarter. He is charged with second-degree robbery.
While Paul is in custody, police are still looking for the three other suspects. New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael S. Harrison delivered a stern message for them. “We told you we were coming for you. We told you we’d have an arrest. We know who the others are and it’s just a matter of time before we put this case together in its entirety and we have all of you under arrest. If I were you, I would follow my friend’s lead and you should turn yourselves in as well because it’s only a matter of time before all of you are under arrest and you do not want us to come get you.”
The two victims in the attack were visiting New Orleans from the Boston area. One of the victims remains in critical condition.
