Tougaloo College on the Coast

High school students and community college students in South Mississippi took advantage of all the resources at Tougaloo College’s ‘On the Coast’ event.

This was a perfect opportunity for students looking towards the next chapter of their education. Students got to experience a little taste of the campus life with many organizations and clubs at the Good Deeds Center and ask questions about what Tougaloo has to offer.

Admission staff and enrollment officers were on hand to assist every student interested in the college.  Tougaloo College President Dr. Carmen Walters said, “They were set up with their laptops and their computers. They will enroll the students and accept them right on campus. We also have all of the clubs and the choir director, you know, and scholarship information. Everything they need has come to them. We normally don’t do that. So we emptied out our offices and we are going down there for the day.”

Tougaloo College wants to make this an annual event in order to attract more students on the Coast on campus.
