Toddler Tuesday at PRAC in Moss Point

If you have a toddler needing to get outside and burn off some energy, the Pascagoula River Audubon Center may be the place for you.
Every Tuesday, the PRAC holds Toddler Tuesday. From 11 a.m. until 12:15, parents can bring their toddlers, as long as they can walk, to the center. The event’s activities range from hands-on activities to simply enjoying the view and learning about the environment.
At the end of the day, the PRAC simply wants to get toddlers and their caregivers outside to enjoy the world around them. PRAC Education and Outreach Manager Erin Parker said, “We usually start with a story and a little walk activity. It might be a scavenger hunt. It might just be a walk. Then we do a whole bunch of choice activities because I think it’s really important for two and three-year-olds to sort of have choices. We try to do a little bit of very easy math, a little bit of very easy science, a little bit of reading, some kind of active thing and then for 20-30 minutes the parents can kind of choose from a bunch of different activities. Then we generally wrap up indoors looking at some of the fish and exhibits or out on the playground, which is a huge hit with these guys.”
Toddler Tuesdays will take place the next two weeks and then take a break until January. For more information, contact Erin Parker at Eparker@audubon.com.
