Tips to prevent catalytic converter theft

Catalytic converter theft is on the rise here on the Gulf Coast.

To help prevent theft, local law enforcement released these tips to help:

• Park in a garage or secure well-lit area
• Install an anti-theft device to the converter
• Engrave your VIN on the converter
• Paint the converter with bright high-temp spray paint to deter theft
• Install outdoor motion sensing security cameras and lights

If you see any suspicious activity, call your local law enforcement.
