The time is now to donate blood

It’s after the holidays now and according to the American Red Cross the need for blood is at an all-time high.
Red Cross mobile units were parked in front of Coast 102 in Gulfport today for the radio station’s annual blood drive.
Coast 102 staff tell News 25 the Red Cross asked the station to hold an emergency blood drive years ago and it’s grown every year since.
When News 25 stopped by today, donors were there giving blood from all over the Coast. Gulfport Donor Donna Jones said, “It only takes maybe 30 minutes of your time to stop and take time to help someone else. I know it’s needed. It’s a very needed cause. I try to make a habit of giving whenever I have an opportunity and time.”
The American Red Cross says you save up to three lives with just one donation. To find the next blood drive in your area, type your zip code in on the website for the American Red Cross.
