Tim Johnson Visits the Coast
Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, Tim Johnson, is making his rounds on the Coast today.
He stopped by Ingalls Shipyard to shake hands with workers, along with other local businesses. Johnson is a Madison County resident and believes he has what it takes to win over incumbent Tate Reeves. His top three platforms include better education, better healthcare and better roads.
Johnson is also a strong supporter of Initiative 42. “Two hundred thousand people signed a petition to put that initiative on the ballot,” said Johnson, “and our legislative leaders are looking at those 200,000 people and going ‘y’all are just too dumb and stupid to know what you’re talking about.’ I think that’s just wrong. I believe if 200,000 people signed a petition to put it on the ballot then that initiative should have been voted up or down.”
Johnson will run against incumbent Tate Reeves, Reform Party candidate Rosa Williams and Libertarian candidate Ron Williams in November.
