TikTok Facing a Ban: South Mississippi TikTok Users Share Their Reactions

On January 19th, TikTok faces the possibility of being banned. WXXV 25’s Jordyn Lassiter spoke with social media users to gather their thoughts on the potential loss of one of the world’s most popular apps.

Many users are already preparing to switch to alternative platforms in case TikTok gets banned. A new app called Red Note has surged in popularity, climbing to the top spot on Apple’s App Store rankings, while others are opting to stick with Instagram.

One social media user thinks that if the ban happens, it might be beneficial for everyone’s well-being, and will cut down on excessive phone usage.
