Tiffany Goodman’s family speaks out after her murder

Two suspects are facing charges in the death of 27-year-old Tiffany Goodman who authorities say was shot and killed Saturday in Gulfport. The Harrison County resident was a mother of three.

News 25’s Gina Tomlinson spoke to Tiffany’s family who are struggling to find answers to what they say was a senseless murder.

“She was a very good person. She had a great heart. She left her mark on everybody.” Friends and family of 27-year-old Tiffany Goodman are left in tears. The Wiggins native was found dead at a home on Mills Road in Gulfport Saturday with a gunshot wound to the head. Tiffany was a mother of three and her youngest child is just one year old. “This is Adilyn, Marleigh, Mason. She loved her kids.”

Tiffany’s family from Wiggins tells News 25 Tiffany could light up any room she walked into. She was known as a true friend who always stood up for what she believed was right. Tiffany’s brother, Jimmy Scruggs, said, “I just can’t get over it. I’m numb, numb. I don’t know when it’s going to hit me. What I loved about Tiffany is she pretty much accepted everyone for who they are, never judged anyone. She was very intelligent.”

Authorities say both Tiffany and the 19-year-old accused of killing her didn’t know each other and neighbors say they’ve never seen Tiffany at the residence before the incident. Neighbor Tommy Peterman said, “Real good neighborhood. All the neighbors get along. We never had any problem. This is kind of a once in a lifetime deal I guess.”

“She was destined for greatness. Just crazy it was took away from her, you know? Surreal.”

Two suspects were arrested in connection with Tiffany’s death. Nineteen-year-old Dannie Bergeron Jr. from Saucier is facing a murder charge and 21-year-old Jacob Scaife is charged with accessory to murder. “There’s nothing negative that comes to mind when I think of Tiffany Goodman. She was and always will be my best friend.”
