Three Gulfport men sentenced for their involvement in New Year’s Eve shootout

The latest round of sentences for the deadly 2021 New Year’s Eve shooting in Gulfport were handed down Thursday in a Harrison County courtroom.
Vincent Armstrong, Latavion Bland, and Mario Clark all pled guilty to their charges back in August.
Armstrong received a five-year sentence connected to the shooting. Bland also got a five-year sentence and Clark received a 15-year suspended sentence with five years post release supervision.
Prosecutors say Bland and Armstrong admitted to firing blindly into the crowd after tensions flared at that December 31st party at a Gulfport home.
Clark told police he lied to them to cover for Armstrong.
Four people died in the shooting and four others were convicted for their role in this case.
