Thousands Come to Town for Cruisin’ the Coast
From Pascagoula to Bay St. Louis, almost every city along the Coast is hosting Cruisin’ events. As many as 7,000 car owners are expected to participate. There is already a noticeable increase in traffic along the beach as Highway 90 is filling up with hot rods and classic convertibles. The eight day event has drawn thousands of people from around the country who just want to sit out and enjoy the rides.
Jan Tucker, who is visiting from Texas, says, “We just love looking at the cars driving up and down the Coast. We love it! We’ve been coming every years since ’98.”
Tim Troia, who is visiting from Louisana, says, “Weather’s great, weather’s beautiful, it’s cool. We’re enjoying it, as you can see, we’re under some oak trees, just having a good time.”
Cruisin’ the Coast runs through next weekend and is expected to bring a $2 million boost to the Coast’s economy.
