Theory of Everything Premiers in Gulfport

Lisa Bruce, the producer of the movie The Theory of Everything, was at a special premiere of the film Wednesday night in Gulfport.

The Stephen Hawking biography flick that explores Hawking’s personal life, along with his brilliance, opens in theaters on Thanksgiving Day. The movie takes a closer look at how Hawking got where he is today, partially in thanks to his first love and wife, Jane. Bruce says the film took six years to come together and lots of convincing with the Hawking family to make his story come alive.

Bruce says, “The fact that he was 21 and a healthy guy at Cambridge, just like a normal guy, and one day, he fell over and then he went to the doctor and they told him he had two years to live and he had A.L.S, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and they gave him two years to live at the age of 21, and despite that, Jane Hawking had met him, fell in love with him, they went and got married, and had three kids, and he’s alive today at 72, so I just think there isn’t a more inspirational story than that.”

The movie premiered at the Cinemark Theatre in Gulfport. Bruce answered public questions afterwards.
